In 1947, Sir Peter Medawar was appointed Mason Professor of Zoology at the university. His function included investigating the phenomenon of tolerance and transplantation immunity. He collaborated with Rupert E. Billingham they usually did investigate on difficulties of pigmentation and skin grafting in cattle. They used pores and skin grafting to
